There are many causes for acne including (but not limited to):

- Diet
- Hormones
- Lack of exfoliation
- Poor skincare routines and hygiene
- Over exfoliation
- Chemical acne- allergy
- Over growth of candida
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ACNE?
Otherwise known as blackheads and white heads, comedones are blocked spots with or without an opening. These are readily extractable at the studio.
Pearly white and non-inflamed. Milia are bumps that often appear around the eyes, they are a pocket of congestion under the skin. These guys must be removed professionally, using a small needle. Don’t try to remove milia home!
Papules appear on the skin as red, sore spots in a variety of sizes. No pus is visible on the surface of the skin, meaning that these guys are not yet ready to be extracted.
Clearly visible on the surface of the skin, these pus filled red spots come in different sizes and shapes. These pustules which are often ready to burst and now can be extracted professionally to avoid scarring through improper technique.
DO NOT TOUCH!! Cystic acne manifests as painful lumps lying deep under the skin which need to be treated. If not treated properly these can easily cause scars.
