PSA: THE DOS AND DON’TS FOR OILY SKIN

If you are suffering from too much shine in the mornings, larger and more visible pores on your face and are spending half your salary on blotting sheets, then you are amongst half the population whose skin type is oily.

This means that your skin produces excess oil and is thick and resilient. You may age slower and can handle more active ingredients in your skincare products. Whilst genetics play the biggest role in determining your skin type, your environment and hormones also contribute.

When choosing skincare products, you should look out for Hydroxy Acids which exfoliate and aid in resurfacing and smoothing skin texture and Bentonite Clay which absorbs excess oil and refines skin texture. You may also want to use a Vitamin A product to stimulate cell turnover and in turn prevent excess sebum production and clogged pores. We recommend: iS Clinical Active Serum

You should go easy on toner, instead of using it once a day, you should only use it once or twice a week at most. It may temporarily dry the skin out but overusing it can lead to your skin becoming sensitive. You should also choose a lightweight moisturiser that will hydrate your skin but also feel light on your face. We recommend using: Circadia Aquaporin cream
