One of the most common questions we get asked in our Studio is - what should my at home skincare routine be and what products should I be using? There are so many different types of products and brands on the market that we totally understand how confusing it can be.
Of course, there are different products you can add into the mix once you have routine established, however, here’s our four starter steps to building the perfect base.
This is the most important step of all. We are all busy which means there’s plenty of time for dirt and muck to get into your skin. Finding the perfect daily face wash is the first step in getting the perfect base skin. Try and cleanse for at least 60 seconds, longer if you have time. Think of this as cleaning the canvas before you add the art! Without a clean canvas the art is not going to look anywhere near as good. Super important!
Skin cells rejuvenate every 28 days. Exfoliation is super important in this process as it helps get rid of dead skin and bring bright, fresh new cells to the surface. There are multiple options on the market from manual to chemical and we recommend that you speak to an expert aesthetician who can recommend the best one for your skin type and current skin condition. It’s important to note, that exfoliation whilst important should not be done every day.
The first two steps remove some of the natural oil in your skin. Think of moisturiser as the glass of water your skin needs when it is thirsty. Depending on how oily your skin naturally is, will determine what moisturiser you pick. Due to our skins natural recovery taking place over night we recommend using a thicker one at night time to aid in this process.
This one’s simple! Year-round SPF is the MOST important thing you can do to ensure your skin stays youthful. You can get UV rays when you are indoors as well, so it is crucial to protect your skin and prevent anti-ageing and cancer.

What happens if you don’t take our advice on the above steps?
On the surface your skin may seem okay but an aesthetician will be able to see the dehydration in your skin and tell the difference.
If you follow the above steps, you skin will be subtler, your make up will go on easier and you will have ‘the glow’ we are all chasing.
Morning vs. Night?
We recommend having a different skincare routine for day and night, but it doesn’t mean you have to buy a whole new set of products. Small tweaks with moisturiser etc can make all the difference.
Finally, we don’t believe following the above steps should break the bank. Pop into our Studio for a free skin consultation and one of our Tribe members will advise you on the right products for whatever budget you have.
